Hey everyone, to celebrate the launch of the KICKSTARTER (we are putting awesome patterns like these on clothes, its pretty cool), Im putting out a new map for all of you to guess. If you have a chance check out the Kickstarter, and tell your friends, and family, and everyone you have ever known or have ever met.
Well that wasn't long, I think that was up for about an hour and a half.
It is the Potomac River flowing past the town of Paw Paw in West Virginia
It has been a while since I posted a new Geo guess, but that was because none had been solved, until last week! Here is the a new one, good luck!
Solved - It's Joshua Tree in California
The last ones have been a little hard it seems, so here is a new one that I will make a little easier.
Hint #1 This one is in California
Remember you have to name a feature in the image to get it correct. Good Luck!!
This Was solved by a user who said he looked all along the Mississippi from the coast up to Minnesota. the location was Lake Larto in Louisianna
Hint #1 This image is in a state that boarders the Mississippi River
Here is a new map for you all to investigate. As you can see it is very low in elevation variability, and also heavily altered by man made processes. Good luck!
p.s. there are still 2 unsolved geo guesses
Hint 4: A National Park Visitors Center is just off the left side of this map
Hint 3: Part of a National Park in this map. Just a reminder, you need to name a feature in the map, so just saying the name of a national park is not good enough
Hint 2: This is in Utah
Hint 1: This area drains into the Colorado River
This is one of my favorite looking ones recently, Good Luck!
At long last this map has been solved! while some guesses got close, only on named a feature inside the map, and that was Chesler Park, which can be seen in the upper left corner of the map. This map also includes druid arch, and much of the Needles formation in the Needles district of Canyonlands National Park. If you have never been to Needles district, it is one of my favorite places in the world.
Looks like that last one was too hard, so here is something a little easier. Geo Guess 3 is still active, until someone solves it, but in the meantime here is this one
Hint #5 This is in the front range
Hint #4 This map shows a wilderness area
Hint #3 It is in Colorado
Hint #2 This is on the atlantic side of the Continental Divide
Hint #1 This location is in the US Rocky Mountains
Well it looks like you all need a real challenge, so (hopefully) here it is. I'll tell you right off the bat that it is in the lower 48 states. Have fun
Well that went fast. The answer was Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho. If you like this image, or just enjoy this little game we are playing, it would be really great if you purchased a print. I certainly enjoy this, and I feel that plenty of you enjoy my works, so lets make this a mutually beneficial arrangement. Thanks for playing!!!
This one is pretty
The Answer is San Juan River right north of 4 corners going into Utah. The state border between colorado and utah are actually contained in this map, with the Four Corners Monument being just off the map to the south. The river here is very slow, wide and sandy, and full of tamarisk, not really worth rafting on. Thanks to everyone for participating!
Hint #3: The river in the image is a tributary of the Colorado, but remember, you have to name what stretch of river this is or a feature in the map for it to count, no randomly naming rivers
Hint #2: The river in the image is on the Pacific side of the Continental Divide
Hint #1: This map is west of the Mississippi
Alright, so that last one was apparently too easy for you internet people, so this one is a little bit more difficult. Also I have posted some rules to clarify things
OK, Here is #2
Hey Everyone, I thought it might be fun to have a little contest that all of you can have a good time with. With that, I present to you the first Geo Guessing event! If you can be the first to correctly identify the location of the map below, you will win a free 11x14 print of your choosing! Take a look and comment your answers.
Here are some hints
Hint #1 It is in the Lower 48 states
Hint #2 It is not in Colorado
Hint #3 This image is oriented north to south, so if you were to look at a regular map of this place, this is how it would be oriented
Alright, lets start with that. If no one gets it after a while i will let a few more hints out. Have fun, tell your friends and good luck!
We have a winner! many of them actually. This is from Tom's Ford, Virginia. Now I gotta come up with a new one.
